Bellingham Country Gardens ยท style options

Three directions.
Pick one before we build the rest.

Same farm, same content, same real photos โ€” three different personalities. All three are complete, clickable sites โ€” every page works in every direction. Mixing is fine too: "B's type with C's photos" is a perfectly good answer.

Vibe A

Field Notes

Warm cream paper, an old-style serif, generous white space. Quiet and trustworthy โ€” reads like a well-made local cookbook or a farm journal.

Feels like: careful, established, a little literary.
Best if: he wants the no-spray story and the calendar doing the heavy lifting.
Trade-off: the safest of the three. Won't stop a scroll.

Vibe B

Roadside Stand

Built from his actual hand-painted sign. Manila and barn red, condensed poster type, hard black rules, placards tilted a degree off square.

Feels like: the farm itself โ€” loud, warm, unpretentious.
Best if: he wants personality and to look nothing like a template.
Trade-off: strongest opinion of the three. Needs a steady hand to keep it charming rather than busy.

Vibe C

Open Field

Photo first. Full-bleed hero with the type sitting over it, near-white ground, tight modern sans, hairline rules instead of boxes.

Feels like: a current small-farm brand. Instagram-native.
Best if: he'll keep feeding it good photos.
Trade-off: lives or dies on picture quality. Weak photos make it look empty.

Photography: much better, still one real gap

The first pass ran entirely on photos scraped off the existing website, all of them 2013โ€“2015 and almost all landscape. A camera-roll drop has since filled most of that in โ€” there's now a portrait of the grower, the stand as it looks today, a wide shot of the tilled field, current sunflowers, and a dozen vertical frames, which is what unlocked the taller layouts.

What's still missing, in the order it matters:

  • Dahlias. Nothing usable came through โ€” close-ups and a row shot. The Petit Fleuri page can't be finished without them, and if that collaboration is the growth story, this is the most valuable shoot on the list.
  • A proper portrait of him. What we have is a candid from across the field, mid-phone-call. It works, but a shot where he's looking up would carry the About page.
  • Rows in full mid-season โ€” beans and tomatoes heavy on the plant, flower rows at peak.
  • A wide of the field with the foothills in good light. The current one is a tilled field in autumn, which reads more "end of season" than "come pick".

Vibe C is still the most exposed โ€” a photo-first layout lives on picture quality. It's now viable where it wasn't before, but it will keep wanting new photographs in a way A and B won't. There are also four videos in the drop I haven't used; worth a conversation if any direction should move.
